Adjusting plastic injection moulds is one of the mould maker’s specialities: a mould in poor condition becomes less efficient, productivity drops, production stoppages occur and repairs of varying degrees have to be carried out.

All-In-One Mould repair and maintenance

Thanks to its latest investments in laser welding technology, SAS Boudin now offers new services for the repair and maintenance of injection and thermoforming moulds.

These services are carried out in our workshops or directly on customer production sites.

We offer an “all in one” service, meaning that our laser welders are first and foremost fitters. They are able to open the mould, prepare the welding field, laser weld, polish the weld, realign the parting line if necessary, and close the mould.

So our customers don’t need to mobilise one of their technicians, or wait for the technician to realign to find out if it’s necessary to re-weld.

Miror polishing

Mirror polishing, up to “optical” quality

Our expertise in mirror polishing is recognised thanks to our specialisation in rear lights for the automotive industry.

From demoulding polish to facilitate the ejection of parts to mirror polish, synonymous with a quality finish, through to high quality optical polish known as micro-precision polishing. We provide high-gloss polishing to meet the most exacting requirements, to ensure your moulds work perfectly and last longer.

Equipped with precision polishing equipment, our fitting technicians have been polishing for many years to provide you with zero-defect plastic injection moulds.

Milling - Turning

Thanks to our expertise in turning and milling, we can sculpt with precision using up to 5-axis milling machines, to obtain parts with defined diameters and depths.

Our turn-mill technicians work on our DMG 5-axis milling machines and Huron conventional milling machines to prepare your moulds to their exact shape.

We can also be called in urgently to mill and turn individual parts.

EDM Machining

EDM sinking machine and EDM cutting machine

Also known as EDM sinking machine and EDM cutting machine, spark erosion is a process that consists of removing material from a workpiece using electrical discharges.

This spark erosion machining process can be used to machine all conductive materials, whatever their hardness, and can also be used to machine at right angles! (which is impossible with machining tools such as milling machines or lathes).
Wire cutting uses a taut wire to make precise cuts in blocks of steel using a 5-axis numerical control system.

Our skills in this finishing stage of developing our customers’ moulds are based on the expertise of our technicians and the use of AGIE, ONA and FANUC numerically controlled sinker EDM machines.

Electrode maching

Of course, our machining expertise is available at all levels and for all parts of your plastic injection moulds or precision tools.

Our machine tools chip away the material to shape the part to the required dimensions, always with the utmost attention to detail and precision.

We can also machine electrodes with extreme finesse, even in large quantities.
